Ebrary Basics Print Page

Available Titles

The law library provides access to select law related eBooks through Ebrary. Ebrary titles are accessible through the catalog or through the Ebrary link. Law students also have access to the Ebrary titles available through the Oklahoma City University Dulaney-Browne Library. To access titles available from Dulaney-Browne, you will need to find titles in the catalog or access Ebrary through Dulaney-Browne's website

Ebooks may be downloaded to most mobile devices or directly to your computer. You may need to install specific software or apps before downloading titles. More information is available in the next column.

Off-Campus access
If you are off campus you will be be prompted to enter your Oklahoma City University network username and password before being redirected to Ebrary.


Viewing Ebrary Titles

You can access ebooks available from Ebrary through Oklahoma City University Law Library's online catalog. For assistance using the catalog consult the "Searching the Catalog" LibGuide or speak with a librarian.

When you have located a book in the catalog select the link "Click here to access this ebook"

You will then be taken to the Ebrary platform.

From here you can view the book directly in your web browser. OCU Law community members may be able to download select titles.

Downloading Titles

Some Ebrary titles, but not all, may be available to download to your computer or mobile device. For some mobile devices such as the Nook, you will need to download the ebook to your computer first and then transfer it to your mobile device using a USB cable.

To download the title you will need to create a personalized Ebrary account. You will also need Adobe Digital Editions installed and authorized on your computer or device as well as an Adobe ID. Continue reading for more detailed instructions on creating these accounts.


Creating an Ebrary Account

Creating an Ebrary account will allow you to download ebooks directly to your computer or mobile device. You will be able to store books with notes during the 14 day lending period. You may also be able to store chapters and certain pages indefinitely.

  1. Go to your usual ebrary site at 
  2. Click the “Sign In” link at the top right
  3. In the window that opens, click the “Create an account” link.
  4. Follow the prompts to set up your account. (Enter an accurate email; if you forget your password, it can only be emailed to the address on file.)
  5. Near the bottom, you will need to click to agree to Terms of Service
  6. Click the “Create New Account” button.



Adobe Digital Editions

For your computer:

To download an entire ebooks from Ebrary you will need to download Adobe Digital Editions to your computer and create an Adobe account. After doing this you will be able to download entire ebooks for 7 to 14 days, read them offline, and transfer them to your mobile devices.

For your mobile device:

Depending on your device, you may be able to download Ebrary titles directly to phone or tablet if they are compatible with Adobe's ebook software and have an available application.  A list of compatible devices is available from AdobeHowever with certain devices, you must download the ebook to your computer first and then transfer it to your mobile device using a USB cable. Before doing this you will need to authorize your device with your Adobe account. Instructions are available from Ebrary.
